The creators of the board role-playing game in the universe “Modified Carbon” came to Kickstarter

Publisher Hunters Books launched a fundraising project on Kickstarter for the publication of a board role-playing game in the universe of “Modified Carbon” by Richard Morgan and the eponymous series on Netflix.

The developers suggest playing events parallel to the plot of the first season and the first book of the writer. In the courtyard of 2384, a gloomy cyberpunk future came, in which mankind learned to change physical shells like gloves. Real death can occur only with the destruction of a high-tech device, on which information about the person is recorded. In the book of rules, the authors described in detail three key territories and four genres that are best suited to the setting: investigation, intrigue, action and drama.

On the Hunters Books Project Page, a 65-page quick start rules was immediately published. The guide talks about the main topics, introduces character creation rules and explains how to resolve conflicts. Although, there is no example of an adventure, there are enough elements in the document to assemble your own.

The authors collected in a couple of hours the required amount of 20 thousand dollars. At the time of writing, the figure exceeded 85 thousand. The project will last another 28 days.

The publisher promises to send print and PDF versions in August. They ask for $ 25 for an “electronic” version, 50 for a printed book, along with an “electronic”.

In 2020, Netflix will continue to develop the “Modified Carbon” universe. February 27 starts the second season of the series. And soon – until no specific date – an anime series will be released.
