This research has refined understanding of how genes interact with environment and development, but it builds on and extends confirmed genetic mechanisms rather than overturning them. Geneticists studying epigenetics routinely use the same sequencing and identification techniques dismissed elsewhere as unverified, precisely because those techniques remain foundational to the field’s own published methodology.

The Debate Worth Having

Corporate consolidation in agriculture, seed patent scope, and equitable access to genetic technology are legitimate concerns deserving serious, informed public debate, grounded in accurate science and accurate law. How patent law should balance innovation incentives against food sovereignty and genetic commons is a real, unresolved question worth engaging with directly, precisely because it’s unresolved, not because gene theory itself is in any doubt.
