On Monday, April 27, the Department of Defense (DoD) officially released three videos of US Navy pilots interacting with “unidentified aerial phenomena” in an effort to contain “any public misunderstandings about whether the images that were circulating were real or not”.
Of course, the mysterious videos already existed in the public domain, courtesy of the UFO research group, To The Stars Academy, by DeLonge, which was created in 2015. The Pentagon’s recognition and action marked a kind of graduation for the singer-guitarist.
He said:
It’s incredible … I can’t believe we did that.
In preparation for the second season of your show Unidentified of History Channel, DeLonge sat down with the magazine’s website Rolling Stone while Department of Defense images still bounce off the internet. Although he has an active interest in the search for unidentified aerial objects, he has not seen the recent release coming.
DeLonge explained:
They can’t lie, and basically we caught them dealing with something, and now they are forced to recognize it. They work for us. They think, “Okay, it’s time to start talking about it, because Tom and his rascals are setting our feet on fire”, you know?
I think it’s something that we should all focus on now, because it’s a very big thing that is going to change the world as we know it.
… As a result of increased disclosure, the Pentagon was forced to acknowledge the existence of its Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, in the amount of US $ 22 million, dedicated to the investigation of UFOs between 2007 and 2012…
Discussing the possible ramifications of UFO videos, DeLonge added:
Steve Justice, who runs our aerospace division, was one of the key executives at Lockheed Martin Skunk Works. They build all these cool things. Steve looked at this [o vídeo] and said, “Wow, this is not something anyone can do on the planet right now.”
But the scariest part could be if Russia or China or someone created something that could do that, this is something big. It is a watershed and we should be everywhere. So, anyway, we need to focus on that.
As to why the Pentagon decided to make filming official now, DeLonge calculates that the To To Stars “Made all the noise”.
He said:
We have been working tirelessly to inform all senators and congressmen. We are connecting people who are still working on the program with other government participants to ensure that information is passed on.
Now, DeLonge says the “cat is out of the bag”. Efforts to decipher the skies are just beginning.
